The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Geologist in Training (GIT) to join our Team in Thompson, Manitoba. This is a permanent position.

As the Geologist in Training (GIT), you will be responsible for supporting geological activities, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation. You will assist in the development and implementation of geological models, conduct fieldwork, and collaborate with various departments to ensure the successful execution of geological projects.

Additionally, as a Geologist in Training (GIT), you will

• Collect, analyze, and interpret geological data to support the development of geological models and project planning
• Conduct fieldwork, including mapping, sampling, probing and gyro, to gather geological information and ensure accurate data collection
• Work closely with other departments, such as engineering and operations teams, to ensure the successful execution of geological projects and initiatives
• Participate in safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies
• Prepare and present geological reports, maps, and other documentation to support project planning and decision-making
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices in geological activities

About You

Education:

• Undergraduate Degree in Geology or a related field

Experience:

• Less than 6 months of relevant experience

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency in geological software and tools (Deswik and Vulcan preferred).
• Commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
