We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Boom Truck Operator to join our team. While driving will be a core responsibility, this role offers much more than just time behind the wheel. We're looking for someone eager to grow within the company - with opportunities to assist in tower crane erection and dismantling, support yard organization, and participate in other engaging aspects of our operations.
This is a physically demanding position that requires the ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs), work overhead and at waist level, climb in and out of trucks, and navigate uneven terrain in all weather conditions. A high level of situational awareness and mobility is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate boom truck and trailer safely and efficiently
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment on various job sites
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections and report any issues
- Maintain communication with team and supervisors via radio
- Adapt to evolving delivery routes and job requirements
- Assist with tower crane assembly/disassembly and yard organization when not driving
- Maintain a strong safety focus and adhere to all safety protocols
- Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold company standards
Qualifications
- Valid Class 3 commercial driver's license with clean abstract
- Crane trailer endorsement (by weight)
- Experience operating boom trucks (e.g., Kenworth, Peterbilt)
- Willingness to learn and take on additional roles beyond driving
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of construction and yard operations is an asset
- Safety-first attitude is essential
Compensation & Terms
- Starting wage: $33.30/hour during 3-month probationary period
- Post-probation wage: $37.00/hour (Union rate)
