The Opportunity:
The Early Childhood Services team for the Anglophone-North district is hiring an Administrative Assistant. This is an integral position that will provide support to a dedicated team of early childhood professionals in the work they do within the district.

Programs and services: Support operators of Early Learning and Childcare facilities, professional learning opportunities, inclusion, quality improvement plans, assessment of curriculum implementation, supporting parents to access community services and resources, early literacy, transition to school, and early intervention.

What you will do:
Reporting to the Regional Director, the selected candidate will be a self-motivated individual that can effectively apply their organizational skills in supporting the team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Screening incoming calls and forwarding to the appropriate staff as well as answering public inquiries.
  • Designing data collection methods using Excel.
  • Inputting data in a variety of online databases.
  • Proofreading and editing documents.
  • Preparing reports for staff.
  • Making travel and accommodation arrangements, purchasing supplies, and processing payments and invoices.
  • Organizing, coordinating, and attending various events and meetings to take notes and write up minutes.
  • Printing, assembling, and dispersing materials for professional learning sessions and other events.
  • Monitoring and tracking budget expenditures and producing reports on budget status as required.
  • Organizing large volume mail outs.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Required Competencies:

  • Post-secondary diploma in a related field.
  • A minimum of (3) three years of related experience demonstrating standard administrative support practices and procedures.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in record keeping.
  • Knowledge of community partners, services and agencies.

Wage:
ASL 3 - $1,625 – $1,971 bi-weekly.

Work environment:

  • Office location: Offices in Miramichi. Some travel throughout the district may be required.
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30.
