The employees of the Ministry of Education and Early Childhood Development develop programs and offer services that support parents and educators, and foster lifelong, transferable and sustainable learning for learners aged 0 to 20.
What you will do:
Curricula play a critical role in education systems, as they define essential knowledge, guide teaching practices and ensure consistency in learning while helping each student reach their full potential. This person will develop and implement K–8 mathematics/numeracy and science curricula.
The key responsibilities of the positions are:
- Planning, developing and implementing mathematics and science curricula
- Overseeing the implementation of the education plan
- Planning, developing and implementing a numeracy strategy
- Planning, developing and implementing programming for various training and professional development opportunities
- Conducting research on numeracy and learning in mathematics and science
- Assembling instructional resources
- Working with various partners in numeracy, mathematics and the sciences
The scope of responsibility for this unit spans across EECD, Part II as well as external third-party entities (i.e. Early learning and childcare facilities).

Required Competencies:
- A master's degree in education and a minimum of six (6) years' teaching experience in an inclusive K–8 public education system
- In-depth knowledge of instructional approaches to numeracy at the primary level
- Ability to supervise and train teaching staff
- Ability to analyze data and adapt strategies to the needs of students and/or teachers
- Skills in collaboration and the development of educational resources
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Wage:
Pay Band 7 - $91,832 – $111,124 annually.
Work environment:
- Office location: Place 2000, 250 King Street, Fredericton.
- Travel to school districts, schools or early learning childcare facilities may be required depending on the nature of the audits.
- Possibility of remote work within New Brunswick.
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30.
