The Provincial Stepped Care Counsellor will support the implementation of the provincial Stepped Care Model and support the Provincial Group Coordinator in developing and facilitating virtual groups to ensure individuals and families in all regions of the province have access to group interventions. These may include wellness webinars, psychoeducational webinars, skills groups and therapy/process groups. Groups may be delivered to individuals and families in a variety of settings, such as in person, online, hybrid, inpatient and outpatient settings.The Provincial Stepped Care Counsellors will also support the e-mental health managers by offering counsellor assisted e-mental health services to individuals and groups across the province. In this position, the incumbent will also work closely with the e-mental health team on all relevant work related to e-mental health services, including planning, promotion, strategic development, and evaluation. The position requires the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a variety of professionals in the delivery of services. The incumbent will be expected to report to the Regional E-Mental Health Manager for the Western zone.
Duties:
The Provincial Stepped Care Counsellor will:
• Facilitate or co-facilitate virtual groups across all regions
• Assist Provincial Groups Coordinator in developing virtual groups as needed
• Assist in implementation of an evaluation model for provincial groups
• Provide virtual clinician assisted counselling
• Participate in regional and provincial promotion of e-mental health services
• Work collaboratively with health zones, community partners, individuals, and families to ensure all individual and group e-mental health services are recovery-focused, inclusive and apply a co-designed approach.
• Work collaboratively with the provincial e-Mental Health team
• Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Graduation with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
• Current and continued registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW) is required.
• Minimum of three years of experience working as a Social Worker in a mental health and addictions program is preferred.
• Experience with virtual counselling is preferred.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is a requirement for this position.
