Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Corporate Services Division as Legislative Coordinator in Fredericton.

Reporting to the Director of Policy, the Legislative Coordinator will accurately and efficiently, manage the coordination, development and production of all legislative related submissions to Executive Council Office and other policy, briefing and information related materials/activities as assigned. Key responsibilities of this position are:

  • Daily monitoring of Legislature activities
  • Identifying, reporting on, and responding to business relating to SNB as dealt with in the Legislature
  • Collecting, coordinating and providing assistance with advising on SNB's responses, and reviewing and disseminating information and advice required from SNB
  • Reviewing and assisting with providing advice on submissions to the Executive Council Office and ensuring that recommendations are in compliance with departmental intent and departmental and provincial agendas
  • Coordinating and assisting with providing advice on Ministerial and/or Corporation responses for requests for Notices of Motion, Debatable Motions and other Legislative activities
  • Assisting with preparing submissions to Cabinet on various matters as required
  • Administering, and providing advice on Ministerial and/or Corporation responses for requests under the Right to Information and Protection of Privacy Act
  • Management of records under the oversight of the Director of Policy
  • Assisting with other policy related work as determined by the Director of Policy
  • Other related duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A university degree in Arts, Journalism, Social Sciences, Public Administration or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of related job experience. Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Some weekday evenings and weekend work hours may be required.

Salary : $52,442- $73,268 annually – Pay Band 3 - Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
