We are currently looking for a Natural Gas Analyst to join Emera Energy. As a Natural Gas Analyst, you are a key member of the Emera Energy Corporate Commercial team and will support our large and growing natural gas trading and marketing business.
As a Natural Gas Analyst,?you will:
- Develop and present complex physical and financial asset valuation models to support trading, origination, asset management, and business development units.
- Track and report on Emera Energy's storage portfolio including paper, physical, and financial balances.
- Develop, maintain and provide oversight on Emera Energy's profit-sharing agreements and other settlement related activities.
- Produce daily market fundamental reports covering Emera Energy's North American footprint.
- Monitor and interpret industry periodicals, publications, and news affecting Emera Energy's operating and business strategy.
- Perform ad hoc statistical analysis of market developments and interpret, disseminate the results within Emera Energy
What skills will make you successful?
The successful candidate may come from a variety of quantitative backgrounds, such as Finance, Statistics or Analytics, and will possess the skills and experience listed below:
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field (preference will be given to Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Finance degrees).
- Graduate degrees in quantitative fields, enrollment in or completion of the CFA designation would be considered an asset.
- Expert proficiency with Excel is required and familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and/or Report Builder would be an asset.
- Strong analytical, attention to detail and organizational skills are required. You demonstrate strong relationship and communication skills as well as excellent multi-tasking abilities.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing tight timelines and moderate stress. You must possess an open mind and be flexible in adapting to change as well as be a strong team player.
- Trustworthiness and personal integrity are a must.
