High quality data is critical to the success of Scotia Global Wealth Management (SGWM). There is a strategic vision across SGWM to transform the way in which data is managed through the creation of a centralized data hub. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation and on-going support of our Investment Data Hub (IDH), a platform built on the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) solution from S&P Global Market Intelligence. You will also be working with business and technology partners across SGWM on new data and reporting initiatives and delivery of data quality enhancements.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Design, build, and maintain the IDH system as it supports Business and Operations needs.
  • Develop and implement solutions using the IHS Markit EDM platform, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Gather, process, and analyze complex raw data at scale, including writing scripts, calling Aps, and writing SQL queries.
  • Collaborate with integration teams to design and implement system integration solutions, addressing data-related challenges.
  • Develop test strategies to ensure the reliability and performance of developed solutions.
  • Interact with Business Analysts and Product Owners for requirement gathering, analysis, and providing technical support during project backlog and sprint backlog calls.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including test strategy documents, test case documents, and metadata setup.
  • Work in close collaboration with the entire Project and BAU Support teams to ensure on-time deliverables and project milestones.
  • Identify and implement internal process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce time expenses.
  • Configure net new and enhance current solutions within IDH to build out a continually evolving centralized data master within SGWM.
  • Participate in engagement with key partners and stakeholders to understand investment data and reporting requirements and participate in design, planning, testing, and solutions delivery

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor Degree, with a technology, computer science, or business focus, or equivalent education and experience.
  • High level of proficiency with HIS Markit EDM. 5+ years of experience is preferred.
  • High level of proficiency with SQL server, .Net framework, Informatica, Data Stage, and MSBI.
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps software development methodologies.
  • Previous experience with core investment data domains (eg positions, security reference, pricing and benchmarks).
  • Ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with business partners and effectively communicate with both business and technology data stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
