As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, leading monthly reporting, and delivering insightful analysis to support business performance. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys turning numbers into actionable insights. This is an 18-month term position working out of EMC's office in Burnside.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Lead monthly financial reporting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Enhance internal reporting processes and develop analytical tools.
  • Support audits with detailed schedules and variance explanations.
  • Collaborate with accounting staff and provide guidance on financial procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal controls.
  • Evaluate business initiatives from a financial perspective.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, or Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting or accounting.
  • CPA designation or progress toward one is an asset.
  • Experience with internal reporting and budgeting practices in a private enterprise.
  • Strong Excel skills; Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Great Plains and Management Reporter would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Positive and creative approach to problem solving.
