We are searching for a Regional Director to lead our team across the Dartmouth region of Nova Scotia. This role is Permanent Full-time and will oversee three (3) of the Enhanced Care Nursing Homes, including Bissett Court, Glasgow Hall, and Opal Ridge Hall.

The Regional Director reports directly to the Vice President of Operations for Enhanced Care Nova Scotia, and is responsible for enhancing operational, clinical, and financial processes, promoting a quality improvement culture, and creating engagement and people strategies that motivate teams to provide an exceptional quality of care for all residents.

About the Opportunity

As a Regional Director, you will play a crucial role in leading the regional team—including Site Managers, Nursing Managers, and other key leaders—to plan, coordinate, and implement operational strategies, which advance the organizations Strategic Plan and uphold Shannex's Philosophy of Service, ensuring the highest standards of resident care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the internal Project Team toward the opening of a new 144-bed licensed nursing home in Dartmouth NS, fall 2025.
  • Contributing as a strategic leader and a key member of the divisional Senior Management Team.
  • Leading and supporting the regional team to plan, implement, evaluate and action key performance indicators for all areas of operating performance.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with teams across all facilities including union partnerships.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory compliances and organizational policies and best practices.
  • Establishing and maintaining an effective organizational structure, ensuring clear responsibility and accountability.
  • Responding to and implementing recommendations from Shannex's quality program and regulatory inspection reports.
  • Proactively identifying business risks and taking timely action to mitigate.
  • Promoting resident safety by ensuring teams follow standard operational procedures, safe work practices, and complete all required training.
  • Ensuring clinical resources are utilized efficiently and effectively.
  • Leading key internal and external stakeholder relationships for the region, ensuring excellent communication and collaboration across all homes.

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability, you bring:

  • Relevant university degree in health science/service/administration or business
  • Experience in a leadership role with long-term care or another regulated healthcare environment.
  • A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience, including people management experience
  • A Master's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field is an asset
  • Experience in government and labour relations in regulated operating environments.
  • Strong leadersh ip skills with proven problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver financial stewardship for operational cost centres
  • A service-minded, results-oriented attitude, with a passion for healthcare and senior care
  • A high level of initiative, attention to detail, and adaptability
