Job Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director – Provincial Medical Services, the Director – Finance, will be accountable for providing leadership and administrative direction on all matters related to financial management within the Provincial Medical Services Program.
The Director will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations for the provincial program, including physician contracts, remuneration, bursaries and incentives, salary issues and Memorandum of Agreement interpretation, and physician payment schedules. This position will also be accountable for internal auditing and reporting.
The Director will work closely with senior management and physician leadership to ensure operations align with the strategic direction of Provincial Medical Services. The Director will also liaise with the NLMA, DOH and other stakeholders and agencies to facilitate effective partnerships.
Job Qualifications
Education
A bachelor's degree in business or related field is required.
A master’s degree is preferred.
Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation as well as a member in good standing with the Certified Professional Accountants Association of Newfoundland and Labrador is required.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the last seven (7) years of progressive management experience, working in a healthcare management role is required.
Experience working as a CPA is required.
Significant recent experience in managing projects of a complex nature is required.

Thorough knowledge of healthcare systems, and familiarity with the Bylaws respecting Medical Staff, the Physician Memorandum of Agreement, and organizational policies and procedures.
