Department: Human Resources

Reporting to Manager, Talent Attraction, Retention & Compensation

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma with a major in Human Resources
  • Two to three years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in recruitment and selection required
  • Experience in public speaking or giving presentations required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required
  • Understanding of immigration issues and programs would be an asset.
  • CHRP considered an asset
  • Drivers license & reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Responsible for providing a responsive, efficient, customer focused service to candidates and managers.
  • Facilitates hiring process for internal and external attraction (e.g., screening resumes, interviews).
  • Accountable for ensuring robust processes and procedures are in place, in line with legislation and best practice.
  • Accountable for attraction and onboarding of new employees, including the development of the Northwood brand and activities.
  • Networks, develops and maintains external partnerships.
  • Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as organizational health, payroll, recruitment system providers to ensure the best possible onboarding experience for new and internal applicants.
  • Coordinates attraction and selection process across Northwood for new employees in conjunction with hiring managers, in order to identify talent.
  • Work with the Manager, Talent Attraction, Retention & Compensation and other key colleagues across Northwood to understand key resource/attraction requirements and develop, review and action effective resource/recruitment plans for service areas which meet the current and future needs in terms of workforce supply and talent attraction/retention
  • Facilitates the reference process, criminal record and vulnerable sector search process and health clearance.
  • Represents organization at various province wide functions and attraction initiatives such as job fairs, information sessions, etc.
  • Manage and coordinate ad hoc attraction campaigns providing expert guidance and support to managers on attraction and selection options based on candidate profiles, design and development.
  • Manage and co-ordinate large volume recruitment campaigns for specific staff groups, working with appropriate recruiting manager/leads and the wider HR team
  • Complete onboarding of new hires.
  • To provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on employment checks. Including verification of identity, right to work, employment history, reference checks, professional registration and qualification check.
  • Coach and support managers and the team to embed robust best practice recruitment and selection processes by providing education, support and guidance in recruiting procedures.
  • Be proficient with the recruitment/onboarding system to enable support to applicants, candidates and managers across Northwood on how to navigate and use the system.
  • Provide training as and when required to new starters in the team and new managers across Northwood on the use of Avanti (e-recruitment)/HR systems
  • To explore and review latest innovative methods and approaches to talent attraction and recruitment to support the development of the service to enable Northwood to be an employer of choice.
  • Supporting through development and research specialist knowledge the design of recruitment strategies and interventions, including effective models for internal promotion, talent deployment, redeployment and recruitment.
  • Develops and maintains communication links with multiple internal and external clients.
  • Ensures that the needs of internal and external clients are anticipated and satisfied.
  • Other duties as required.

Hours: 80 Hours Biweekly
