Summary

Working within the Agency's Creative Department, the artistic director ensures the graphic development and visual aspect of the brands for which they are responsible, according to the objectives and strategies pre-established by the marketing department, in collaboration with the various Bell Media departments (programming, news, digital). They ensure and coordinate the creation and development of graphic concepts, product quality and compliance with deadlines both internally and externally with the various stakeholders. They contribute, with the graphic manager and the Bell Media creative director, to the development of graphic staff to meet the needs of the organization. They ensure the creation of all graphic elements specific to television broadcasting (signature, opening of the show, compos, logos, table, virtual sets, etc. ) as well as studio environments (sets), digital (web, mobile) and printed productions, in connection with the brand image of Bell Media channels.

Key Responsibilities

Within the Agency, the Art Director:

  • is a creative manager who works closely with key players in various sectors such as programming, marketing, communications, commercial production, news and digital media, under the direction of the Creative Director. They foster a dynamic approach among all stakeholders.
  • works closely with directors, producers, graphic designers, videographers, directors/editors, designers/writers and technical directors to develop and produce concepts required by the various sectors;
  • participates in the development of the graphic image of the brands to which they are assigned;
  • ensures the creation and development of graphic concepts for television and radio;
  • guides graphic designers in design;
  • liaise with clients in various sectors;
  • establishes and maintains specifications and timelines for work based on priorities and internal and external production capacity based on available budgets, with the assistance of the graphic coordinator and post-production coordinator;
  • establishes visual creation priorities to meet the needs of various departments;
  • produces storyboards and maintains timelines;
  • ensures superior and consistent product quality and maintains graphic procedures and formats
Critical Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in visual arts/graphic design or any other related training and/or an AEC in 2D and 3D computer graphics or the equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an artistic director or any other related experience.
  • Demonstrate a highly developed artistic sense and be very creative.
  • Knowledge of computer graphics software for 2D and 3D, web and printing.
  • Knowledge of new technologies in their field.
  • Competence in project management, team leadership, and strong ability to plan, organize, direct and control.
  • Demonstrate influential leadership with production teams, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Know how to clearly express and argue their graphic intentions.
  • Have a strong sense of autonomy and a developed sense of organization.
  • Have demonstrated the ability to adapt to changes.
  • Knowledge of video signal standards is an asset.
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English.
  • Have excellent ability to work under pressure and manage multiple orders with a very tight deadline.
