As a member of the Liquidity Stress Testing Team you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining internal assumptions, methodologies and stress scenarios to ensure sufficient liquidity during periods of stress and drive liquidity management decisions.

Reporting to the Director, Liquidity Stress Testing, the Associate Director will oversee the development and maintenance of liquidity stress testing data and processes and will be responsible for promoting system enhancements.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancements of the enterprise Liquidity Stress Testing Program to assess liquidity needs, drive strategies, recognize vulnerabilities and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Interpret new and existing liquidity regulatory reporting requirements and best practices to incorporate them in the stress testing framework.
  • Devise risk mitigation and liquidity optimization strategies and implement solutions.
  • Continually assesses the completeness and accuracy of data related to products and sources systems, and design process improvements as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Technology and Treasury partners to prioritize updates to ensure delivery of key initiatives.
  • Ensure data architecture integrity while coordinating added efficiency and data enhancements into LST processes.
  • Oversee and review process testing, controls, and required documentation along with reasonability requirements.
  • Design and oversee processes, automation, reports and dashboards to provide liquidity insights, historical trend analysis and forecasts.
  • Maintain and document business requirements, coordinating with technology and LIAT, support UAT LST enhancement testing.
  • Assist in aligning Treasury and Bank strategic objectives by reviewing and contributing to changes in liquidity transfer pricing.
  • Leverage quantitative data analytics and qualitative insights to develop thoughtful stress scenarios.
  • Collaborate with business partners to strengthen understanding of liquidity drivers and client behavior during stress events.
  • Add meaning to data by understand shifts in balance sheet positions and articulate appropriate levels and composition of liquidity supports to senior management for better decision-making and strategic resilience.
  • Remain up to date on emerging market risks and best practices to recalibrate stress test assumptions and scenarios.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have experience with:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience in Liquidity risk / management, Treasury and/or Capital Markets and Risk Management.
  • Prior experience with liquidity management, stress testing and corresponding reporting processes would be an asset.
  • In depth experience with data driven decision making
  • Experience with Power BI, Python, SQL, VBA and database models
  • Solid working knowledge of stress testing requirements as per OSFI, CDIC guidelines
  • Understanding of Market Risk, particularly off-balance sheet derivative products, is beneficial.
