JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Regional Director of Research and Health Evaluation, the Research Consultant will play a management and coordination role in the implementation of all clinical research activities conducted within Vitalité Health Network. The Research Consultant will support management, physicians and health care professionals in initiatives and projects to assist them in their decision-making. More specifically, the successful candidate will coordinate and develop research activities in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and provide support in the quantitative and/or qualitative analysis of statistical data. They will provide comprehensive support for the Network's research projects and ensure their effective management. They will participate in the development of innovative research initiatives and provide scientific supervision for initiatives related to the learning approach.

The Research Consultant will work to develop processes and policies related to the sector. They will also participate in the ethics submission process for research projects and work closely with the Coordinator of the Research Ethics Board. They will be able to make recommendations to the organization's senior management.

In addition, the Research Consultant will collaborate with the Maritime SPOR Support Unit (MSSU) to support the integration of patient-oriented research in clinical and organizational practices. This collaboration will aim to foster the co-development of participatory research projects, optimize the use of evidence in decision-making processes, and support the implementation of patient-centered practices, in keeping with the learning approach adopted by the Network.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate degree in a field related to the position: science, health, management, or another related field
  • At least 5 to 10 years' experience in the health research field within a university setting, research institution or hospital setting
  • Research-related experience: literature review, data collection, scientific writing and publishing, preparation of grant applications, knowledge transfer
  • Experience in statistical analysis (quantitative and/or qualitative)
  • Experience in project development
  • Experience in project management
  • In-depth understanding of the scientific method and research
  • Good understanding of research and major challenges related to health care systems
  • Expertise in scientific writing and review
  • Experience with different analytical methods
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Critical-thinking skills
  • Attention to detail and scientific rigour
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Tact and discretion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
