English Teacher
Employment Term: Permanent Full-Time (1-Year Maternity Leave)

Rothesay Netherwood School (1877) is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for Grades 6 to 12 that offers innovative, world-class learning experiences in a safe and caring school community. RNS is seeking a teacher who is passionate about English and can teach students in Middle and Senior School while preparing students for externally moderated evaluations. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to inspire young people through a study of literature, and a capacity to advance best practices in the English department. All teachers are accepted to contribute broadly to the RNS school community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Teach five (5) courses
• Coach or supervise a co-curricular activity in two of three terms.
• Be a member of a residence duty team.
• Be an advisor to a group of students.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts, English major.
• A track record of excellence as a teacher, ideally in an independent school setting.
• A skill set that includes strong organization and execution abilities.
• Positive attitude and flexible approach with students, families and colleagues.
• A demonstrable commitment to professional growth.
• Experience with the International Baccalaureate program and IB English A1 is an asset but not essential.
