Essential Qualifications:

  • Certification
    • Certified GIS Professional is considered an asset.
    • Those applicants with excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French will be given preference.
    • Class 5 Driver's License
  • Education
    • Undergraduate degree in GIS or equivalent (minimum 4 years post-secondary education)
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years GIS experience (municipal experience preferred)
  • Technical Skills
    • In-depth knowledge of Enterprise GIS and relational database management systems
    • Experience building mapping applications
    • Good understanding of and ability to perform geospatial and statistical analysis
    • Demonstrated knowledge of cartographic principles
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Good understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and scale
    • General knowledge of remote sensing and global positioning systems
    • Ability to quickly learn to use new software
    • Advanced knowledge of ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro Software
    • Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS Online
    • General understanding of user experience/user interface (UX/UI) design
    • General knowledge of CAD Software
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Working knowledge of audio/visual equipment, plotter, scanner, and general office equipment
    • General knowledge of graphic design software
    • Programming skills would be considered an asset
