Job SummaryThis position is a shared position between the Emergency Department in St. John’s (either Health Sciences Centre or St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital) and the Emergency Department at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre (BPHC). The Registered Nurse will work a rotating schedule, alternating between the city and BPHC. Flexible schedule options are available, and accommodations will be provided by the employer for the time spent working in the alternate home site.
Registered Nurses coordinate and participate in the delivery of holistic and supportive care to patients/clients/residents by assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating the plan of care. This may include the provision of health promotion, curative, supportive, rehabilitative and palliative services. Registered Nurses may also provide professional supervision and direction or mentoring to the nursing care team while supporting other members of the interprofessional team to achieve safe and effective care of patients. As well, Registered Nurses ensure that documentation and nursing policies and practices are followed while working together with families to ensure the highest standard of care is provided.

Job Qualifications
Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required.
Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required.
CTAS, PALS, TNCC, ACLS must be obtained.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
*This position requires the ability to do long distant escorts, greater than 4 hours.
