Position Overview:

The City of Saint John is currently seeking a Journeyman Truck & Transport Mechanic. This position carries out the duties associated with the operations of the mechanical garage and satellite facilities to provide for the maintenance and administration of City-owned vehicles and equipment.

Working conditions may include night shifts, shift work, and/or overtime including evenings, weekends, and/or statutory holidays as required to respond to seasonal requirements and unforeseen circumstances. Work requires a high level of attention and mental sensory coordination with some physical effort and frequent exposure to heat, cold, fumes, dirt, oil, chemicals, welding, cutting, and gouging equipment.

Essential Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a licensed Journeyman Mechanic holding a Truck & Transport Journeyman License.
