Definition of Work: This position will report to the Recruitment Lead. The incumbent will be responsible for providing talent acquisition services to various programs and departments of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services. The incumbent will be required to work cooperatively with employees, managers, union representatives, and other members of the Human Resources Team.

Recruitment Services is a strong contributor to NL Health Services strategic and operational plans with a priority on a sustainable workforce. The HR Consultant works within a team environment and provides a full continuum of talent acquisition services to stakeholders in the public and throughout the organization. This involves leading recruitment initiatives, collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to identify key demand areas, sourcing talent supplies, screening and interviewing candidates, identifying incentives and strategies for difficult to recruit positions, developing promotional and informational opportunities and resources to recruit and welcome hires. The incumbent interprets collective agreements and makes hiring decisions based on the same. Also, the position provides advice on training requirements and career opportunities, acts as an ambassador at career fairs, and participates/contributes to lean, quality and improvement processes/policies.

Job Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Commerce with a specialization in Human Resource Management is required.
    CPHR certification is an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of recruitment experience in a unionized environment is required.
  • Experience in the interpretation and administration of collective agreements is required.
  • Alternate combinations of qualifications may be considered.

A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
