Site Description: Halifax Stanfield is Atlantic Canada's principal full-service airport providing passengers and cargo clients with direct access to markets across Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean Basin, Europe, and Asia. Halifax Stanfield offers Canada Customs services on a 24-hour, seven day a week basis, and it's the only airport in Atlantic Canada with U.S. preclearance and International to Domestic processing facilities.
Position Details:
Position: Airport Security Compliance Officer (SCO)
Site: Halifax Airport (HIAA)
Overtime: Overtime after 48 hours
Hours: Continental Rotation - 0600-1600/1600-0600
Payrate: $21.65
Posting Date: March 3, 2025
Internal Closing Date: June 30, 2025
External Closing Date: June 30, 2025
Schedule Example:4 days on (2 days on day shift/2 days on night shift), 4 days off
Key Responsibilities:
A Security Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring all Transport Canada regulations are met within the Halifax Stanfield International Airport. The expectation of this position is that all individuals would be highly trained and would have the ability to escort construction workers through the airport, specifically to restricted areas. Individuals will work 12 hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off rotation consisting of 2 days and 2 nights.
Career Advancement Opportunities to become trained in Security Operations Centre and Patrol when positions may become available.
We are seeking experienced security professionals looking to build a full-time career in Aviation Security.
Positions Require:
  • Previous experience in Construction or Industrial work sites is required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Good Communication skills
  • Have the ability to drive airside
  • Security related experience
  • A high degree of professionalism
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to pass a security clearance and hold a RAIC
  • Ability to pass a security clearance license through the Department of Justice
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Flexible availability including weekends and overnight shifts, schedule of 06:00-18:00/18:00-06:00
  • Must be at least 19 years of age and have a high school diploma.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the airport.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with min 3 years of driving experience.
  • Must have valid First Aid & CPR/AED certificate (Online First Aid/CPR certificate not accepted)
