Evergreen Home for Special Care is a privately owned continuous care provider located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. Licenced by the Department of Seniors and Long-Term Care, Evergreen provides care for its residents regardless of age, sex, race, creed, and social status.
The facility is comprised of a Children Centre which is licensed to provide 24 hour nursing coverage for 20 children and a Seniors Centre consisting of 98 residents. All residents receive multi disciplinary care based on a holistic approach to ensure physical, mental and spiritual well being while recognizing the right to individuality, respect and dignity.
Programming in the Children Centre is conducted on an individual basis and some of the children attend school outside the facility. Full and part time professional nursing care is provided to children of all ages and respite care is available to families in need.
The involvement of families, staff and volunteers contributes to the mission of meeting the needs of all residents of Evergreen.
Key Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse Clinical Coordinator is responsible to the Director of Nursing for the Children Centre, and functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team, using the nursing process and therapeutic relationships to coordinate and provide guidance among residents, substitute decision makers, and internal and external team members to achieve individualized and evidence-based care delivery.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Registered, or eligible to be registered, with Nova Scotia College of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
- Preference given to candidates having nurse management courses and supervisory capabilities.
- Understanding of Resident Centered Care model.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Interpersonal and communication skillset for collaboration with residents, substitute decision makers (SDM), other departments, and visitors to facility.
- Commitment to professional development
Assets
- Minimum 2 years experience in clinical registered nurse role.
- Experience in pediatrics.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Certification in Pediatric Nursing from Canadian Nurses Association.
Hours of Work:
- FTE 1.0
- 8 hour shifts
