Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.
What you will do
Reporting to the Manager of Traffic Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- supervising and managing field operations including
Provincial Extruded Signing, Provincial Permanent Lighting, Construction Signing and Detours programs;
- auditing expenditures for the signing, lighting construction/detours and various capital projects.
- representing Traffic Operations in various pre-tenders, communities, utilities and construction job meetings;
- providing guidance, assistance and technical support with regard to the Work Area Traffic Control Manual;
- coordinating the maintenance, installation, relocation of all extruded and permanent lighting and signage for the province including locates;
- preparing and reviewing signage diagrams for construction projects and provincial maintenance activities.
Work environment:
- Office location: 122 Currie Avenue, Fredericton.
- Open office layout.
- Standard hours of work: Monday ¿ Friday.
- We promote a scent-reduced environment.
- Some travel within the province will be required.

Essential Qualifications:
- Diploma from a recognized two (2) year civil engineering technology program in a related field;
- Minimum of six (6) years of related work experience, and two (2) years of supervisory experience;
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following assets:

SALARY:
Engineering and Field Level VII: $2,327.00 to $2,932.00 bi-weekly, based on a 36 ¼ hour work week.
