As a Sales Manager with Steele Honda, you will organize, control, and improve the efficiency of the Sales Department under the General Sales Manager's guidance, ensuring high-quality service and expert advice to achieve customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will maintain sales processes according to dealership and manufacturer standards and manage human resources within the Sales Department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Define and develop efficient and effective sales department goals and processes based on the manufacturer's guidelines and standards under the guidance of the General Sales Manager.
- Communicate and anchor goals for all defined sales processes and ensure their consistent implementation.
- In the absence of the designated Sales Floor Manager, monitor and control sales leads through ongoing observation and analysis of performance indicators.
- Adjust or adapt new processes throughout the year to ensure the achievement of annual targets.
- Consistently implement, monitor, and tailor processes for the continuous improvement of the overall customer experience in sales.
- Create marketing and promotion plans for sales in coordination with responsible personnel in the dealership and the manufacturer.
- Work with the Sales Floor Manager to hire and train sales staff as required in order to achieve the goals and objectives of the Sales Department.
- In the absence of the Sales Floor Manager, desk and approve all deals prior to F&I turnover.
- Handle vehicle inventory management and ordering, ensuring supply levels are sufficient and well balanced based on demand.
- Ensure compliance with all sales-related manufacturer specifications (e.g. co-op advertising eligibility and brand standards guidelines).
Skills:
Corporate Knowledge
- You are familiar with the administration of OEM products & services.
- You know the market and the competition, including their market offers.
Technical Background
- You have knowledge of processes and tools for automotive business and market analyses.
- You are familiar with working techniques in both self-management and team management.
- You have a very strong understanding of key figures in a Sales Department.
- You have a good background in marketing.
- You have basic legal knowledge (e.g. guarantees, contracts, and customer data protection).
- You know the statutory requirements for occupational health, safety, fire and environmental protection.
Process and Organizational Knowledge
- You have exceptional knowledge about the processes and workplace organization in sales.
- You know the processes in other dealership departments ("General" Management, Parts/Accessories, Service, Human Resources and Accounting).
- You understand the relationship between quality, customer satisfaction and business success.
- You know the available and leading-edge team recruitment, management and evaluation tools.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in people management and leading teams.
- 2+ years of experience as a Financial Services Manager
- 3-5 years of experience in an automotive dealership Sales Department.
- Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers.
- Valid Driver's License with clean Driving Abstract
- Ability to operate vehicles with a manual transmission
- Completion of College or University programs in Business Management, such as a degree in Business Studies.
- Completion of Automotive Dealership Management Program or NADA equivalent.
