SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate reports to the Manager of the Integrated Services Network and works in collaboration with the Manager of the Programme de formation médicale francophone du Nouveau?Brunswick. Coordinates the work of an interdisciplinary team, and provides a full range of services to clients of all ages while fostering a collaborative approach to recovery and wellness. Gives medication education, promotes healthy lifestyles, and keeps up-to-date on new medications/treatments based on best practices and informs staff about these. Also participates in medical assessments and performs advanced nursing techniques. Provides clinical leadership as well as supervision and coordination of the clinical services delivered by the interdisciplinary team. Responsible for assigning clinical cases and orienting new employees within the sector. Ensures that professionals meet professional practice standards and follow applicable policies and procedures. Participates in the development and implementation of guidelines or policies and procedures in collaboration with the manager as required. Participates in committees/working groups, employee performance appraisals and record audits. Sees to the training needs of employees and provides certain necessary training to employees or to various community partners in connection with services. Creates, implements and/or leads information sessions and group sessions (psycho-educational or therapeutic, as needed). Keeps abreast of the various community resources available and facilitates access to them for customers, their natural networks and professionals. Establishes and maintains links with these different partners. Performs all other tasks deemed necessary by the program manager based on operational needs.

Works closely with the program manager to ensure the department runs smoothly. Also handles a clinical caseload and ensures that clients and their natural support networks participate in developing care plans.

The position's duties also include assessment, treatment, building helping relationships, crisis intervention, case management, rehabilitation and prevention.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Member in good standing of the Nurses Association of New Brunswick;
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
  • Minimum of five years' clinical experience;
  • Successful completion of Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) within set timeframe;
  • Ability to develop effective partnerships with the community network;
  • Ability to provide clients with group sessions;
  • Good knowledge of computer tools;
  • Creativity and innovation;
  • Sound clinical judgment and good analytical reasoning;
  • Leadership and good decision-making ability;
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Adaptability and flexibility;
  • Good organizational skills and ability to set priorities;
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to use own vehicle in performance of duties;
  • Availability to travel within the zone;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Adherence to Vitalité Health Network's confidentiality rules.
