This role leads strategic communications supporting the Cloud Acceleration Program (CAP), one of Scotiabank's top priorities. This program has enterprise-wide impact, and requires effective communications from executive leadership to employees impacted by the change. In this role, you will develop and execute strategic communications plans for the CAP, while ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is the role right for you?
  • Plans and manages the integrated internal program communication plan to support effective communications for the CAP.
  • This role includes the development and execution of planning, writing, editing and distribution of key communications including Leader communications and program narrative targeted to a diverse stakeholder audience.
  • As the program matures and as needs evolve, refine the narrative guided by change communications best practices while staying aligned to the CAP strategy
  • Ideate, produce, and manage enterprise-wide as well as targeted communications based on unique stakeholder needs, including announcements, newsletters, online content, videos, message banks, and presentations. This includes working with internal communication and business partners to develop communications as needed and coordinating and executing the delivery of communications to target audiences.
  • Lead, manage, and execute creative, robust internal communications andplans for key enterprise initiatives, including managing and supporting key internal and external speaker stakeholders on events.
  • Act as a critical communications advisor to key stakeholders, leading to the successful execution of coordinated communications strategies, including providing advice and counsel to key stakeholders relating to their communication needs.
  • Ensure an efficient workflow for creating, editing, publishing, and measuring the impact of program communications. Identify opportunities to increase impact and iterate when needed.
  • Collaborate closely with executives, to craft executive- and employee-level communications and presentations, providing steer that reflects an understanding of the business. Understands how the Bank's culture of inclusion, high performance and customer focus should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Experience leading communications for a large-scale transformation initiative with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions to influence, manage, and drive communications across the organization.
  • The incumbent is required to keep current on communication trends and best practices and will be a self-starter who proactively identifies communications opportunities and suggests creative ways to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Experience in designing presentations, videos, and creative collateral for transformation initiatives that require large-scale change
  • The incumbent requires a combination of focus and flexibility and can work independently and take direction well.
  • The incumbent must be diplomatic, flexible, with a positive, mature attitude, and the ability to remain calm under pressure and to deliver under tight timelines.
  • Must also be proactive and creative, with strong, proven ability to plan and manage competing priorities, as well as ability to recognize and appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Minimum undergraduate university degree, ideally in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, Marketing, or a related field. A post-graduate certificate in a related discipline is an asset.
  • Superior verbal and written English communication skills including demonstrable creativity, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Spanish and French language and writing skills would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment
