Located in Iqaluit, NU, the position has full authorization as an Inspector of Mines and is appointed by and reports directly to the Supervisor for the Safety Officers and Inspectors of Mines in Iqaluit.

Here are a few ways you will make a difference:

  • Ensure compliance with stakeholders through review and analyses if the inspection protocols within directed services.
  • Providing education, consultation, and resources and guidance to stakeholders through regulatory activities.
  • Participating in regulatory activities through the investigation protocols for issues of compliance and noncompliance to the Mine Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.

What you bring to the role:

A degree or diploma in science, or a relevant discipline; preferably in mining or OHS, from an accredited university or college and including three (3) years of experience working at a mine or in the mining/exploration industry.
