Communications and Engagement Coordinator - Toqlukuti'k Wind and Hydrogen Ltd.
ABO Energy and partners Miawpukek First Nation and Braya Renewable Fuels (Braya) are developing Toqlukuti'k Wind and Hydrogen Ltd. (www.toqlukutikproject.com); a multi-phased, integrated project located on the Island of Newfoundland. Totalling 5 GW once complete, Toqlukuti'k Wind and Hydrogen will provide green ammonia for export to the global market and green hydrogen to further decarbonize the production of the refinery in Come By Chance.
ABO Energy Canada's Consultation and Engagement Team is seeking a full-time Communications and Engagement Coordinator to support our Toqlukuti'k Wind and Hydrogen Project in Newfoundland and Labrador, along with other Projects in Atlantic Canada as needed.
Our Consultation and Engagement Team is dynamic and hands on in our work with multiple communities, many stakeholder groups and Indigenous groups. We design and provide consultation and engagement programs that ensure informative communication and promotes respectful discourse. Your Role

· Work to support Communication and Engagement Leads for Atlantic Canada and Project Toqlukuti'k, along with project manager on communications and public engagement activities for the Toqlukuti'k Wind and Hydrogen Project;

· Support Project Communication and Engagement Lead with general outreach and public relations activities, including assisting to provide Project updates to local government representatives, interest groups, First Nations communities and residents in the Project vicinity;

· Manage the Project information e-mail inbox, assisting with triage and drafting responses for review by relevant Project leads;

· Provide support for external events, including recommending and attending activities in the region including potential conferences, local employment fairs, etc.;

· Supporting the Project Lead in media relations (media monitoring, triaging and scheduling requests, assisting with key message development);

· Support with preparing presentations, social media posts, brochure and posterboards content;

· Keep stock of promotional and informational materials, ensuring new materials are ordered as needed, providing recommendations and pricing on promotional items;

· Manage the Project contact lists and e-newsletter, including support in drafting, formatting and distributing newsletter;

· Work with the Atlantic Canada Community and Engagement Lead to suggest and plan for website updates on www.toqlukutikproject.com, including maintaining and updated and accurate list of Frequently Asked Questions

· Record, maintain and prepare consultation logs for project development and regulatory applications. This includes regular and accurate upkeep of communications logs and related data using a software platform;

· Support community and stakeholder engagement work by organizing and attending meetings, record keeping, as needed;

· Provide support in preparing materials for open houses (information sessions) and other company events, including making bookings and tracking payments;

· Deliver innovative communication solutions for project consultation and engagement, including online channels;

· Report to ABO Energy Canada's Communication and Engagement Lead, Project Toqlukuti'k;

· Work in close cooperation with German headquarters and broader Project team on activities as required.

Your Profile

· Approximately 2-4 years or more of communications, community relations, or other similar experience

· Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for renewable energies and communications

· Extensive experience with data management and communication tracking

· Highly organized with attention to detail

· Experience and knowledge of newsletter/mass email platforms (i.e., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.)

· Experience with Canva, InDesign or other graphic design programs an asset

· Experience with Excel

· Experience working with Indigenous communities, and with people in all their diversity and with different interests

· Able to travel throughout the province (travel to the Isthmus of Avalon area and Clarenville may be required on a monthly basis, or as needed), Canada, and occasionally internationally

· Ability to accurately record and prepare technical documentation

· Proven ability to perform interdisciplinary work

· Social media experience is mandatory

· Experience in power sectors and/or renewable energy development would be an advantage, but not mandatory
