Job Summary:
As an integral part of McCain's procurement team, this role is pivotal in ensuring the company maintains its position as a leader in sourcing materials and services for food production. Focused on North American operations, the Procurement Specialist will oversee the strategic planning, delivery, and storage of raw materials and packaging essential for manufacturing. This role will also contribute to procurement systems enhancements, troubleshoot supply disruptions, and drive supplier performance enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the inbound supply chain for raw materials, ensuring timely deliveries to support production schedules.
- Manage inventory of direct materials, optimizing production needs while considering financial impacts.
- Implement processes to mitigate risks associated with inbound materials, ensuring production continuity.
- Supervise SMI vendor relationships, including inventory parameters and order management.
- Handle material returns, credits, and related financial transactions.
- Lead the resolution of material complaints, monitoring performance trends, and collaborating with buyers.
- Execute routine procurement activities such as MRP review and purchase order placement.
- Maintain supplier performance metrics and contribute to data collection for quality and delivery analysis.
- Address daily supply chain exceptions promptly to meet production demands.
- Contribute to material cost-saving initiatives through proactive ideation and execution.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree preferred, ideally in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with experience in SAP, TMS, or Power BI preferred.
- Procurement or supply chain experience is desirable but not mandatory.
Experience & Skills:

- Demonstrated project management skills are advantageous.
- Strong analytical and planning abilities are essential.

- Ability to align business needs with scalable solutions.
- Proficiency in client relationship management and financial analysis.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to connect business objectives with external capabilities.
- Collaborative approach with strong communication skills.
- Analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.
- Flexibility and creativity in responding to evolving requirements.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to McCain plants and supplier locations.
