Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for an Data Product Analyst. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB.

Here's where you'll be focusing:

As a Data Product Analyst with Sobeys, you will:

  • Analyze data requirements and bridge the gap between business and development team to provide consistent solutions to business problems.
  • Analyze and Prioritize Support and enhancements tickets with the development team.
  • Business Support of Multiple end user tools (SAS, SAP BW, Tableau and Azure technologies).
  • Analyze and build data mappings for all domain or system specific requirements using descriptive statistics.
  • Understand and execute data profiling and provide the data requirement for reporting solutions.
  • Perform data analysis using cloud native technologies for data profiling and issue resolution.
  • Perform data requirement gathering and solution prototyping for Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) both on prem and cloud technologies.
  • Build and understand data modelling using industry standard terminologies and technologies.
  • Use data visualization tools and techniques to provide the bridge between business and IT with respect to data requirements.
  • Able to prototype solutions along with business and integrate with IT landscape.
  • Work closely with our Data Engineering, Data Analytics and Machine Learning teams on complex customer facing projects.

What you have to offer:

Your experience and resume will show us:

  • Bachelor's degree with Information Systems exposure (a Major in: Analytics, Computer Modeling, Science, Engineering or Math).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Software Engineer professional.
  • Exposure as a Data Analyst in on-prem and cloud data warehouse implementations.
  • Knowledgeable of SQL queries and edits.
  • Proficient in different Visualization tools.
  • A leader in fundamental Data Warehouse knowledge including Data Modeling, Data Wrangling, Data Profiling, and Data Visualisation.
  • Exposed to Cloud architecture and toolsets e.g. Azure Cloud, Snowflake.
  • Capable of communicating in MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
  • Experience with programming tools, scripting (e.g., SQL, Python, Scala) is an asset.
