You are a builder, influencer and change agent
In this exciting role, you will help design and build solutions for our data governance and data quality initiatives. You will identify, design and implement the internal processes to support data-driven decision making across the organization as well as mentor junior data engineers on the team.
This role is based out of our office in Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB.

What you have to offer:
As a Senior Data Engineer with Sobeys, you will:
- Ability to create and maintain optimal data quality & governance solutions.
- An innovative approach to building and nurturing data flow processes.
- Skills to assess business requests and provide response and direction quickly.
- Knowledge to support and mentor cross-function team members.
- Own and support data products lifecycle from inception to product delivery.
- Both big-picture strategic and in-the-trenches tactical approach to data management.
What you have to offer
- Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline. A minimum of 5 years experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer professional.
- Senior level experience with Informatica Data Quality (IDQ), including development & sustainment of IDQ mappings, rules, profiles, and scorecards.
- Experience with Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) and Axon would be a great asset.
- Coding skills and deep proficiency with SQL.
- Competent with general scripting/software development.
- Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with mentoring junior team members/Data Engineers is an asset.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferably), strong knowledge of data modeling, data architecture and data structures.
- Excellent listening, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
