Department: SMARTech Occupational Therapy Assistant

Effective Date: ASAP

Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly - Days

Qualifications:

• One to two years of relevant work experience
• Diploma in Physiotherapy Assistant or Rehabilitation Assistant
• Working knowledge of WHMIS
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position including frequently stooping and bending and the ability to safely lift up to 44 lbs
• Long term care experience preferred

Responsibilities:

• Assists with and implements treatment programs prescribed by the Occupational Therapist
• Communicates with the SMARTech Occupational Therapist, the SMARTech team and the Restorative care team as required.
• Creates and maintains a schedule for seeing SMARTech participants.
• Responds promptly to resident identified technology issues, prioritizing requests based on resident safety.
• Ensures the safety of the Smartech participants (e.g. educates staff and residents, monitors equipment)
• Reports and documents client progress to the SMARTech team and other disciplines as indicated.
• Enters information into the data base and tracks equipment inventory and usage.
• Primary contact with contracted software management representatives reporting issues and concerns for resolution.

Salary / Benefits: As per Northwood scale.
