You will perform a range of semi-skilled and labour type tasks on buildings, roads, grounds, dykes, dams and structures; as well as perform cleaning, cooking, snow removal, garbage removal, landscaping, and operation of hydraulic control gates, painting, sandblasting, rigging and scaffolding. You will also assist in the performing of maintenance and repairs to corporation's facilities, structures and grounds including carpentry, plumbing, painting and masonry work. You will also be responsible for staffing up-country structures when required. You must be able to operate mobile equipment and be able to perform tanker duties at the marine terminal and perform Type 1 asbestos removal as per provincial regulations. You may be required to work at heights up to 130m and in confined spaces and complete all other duties related to or associated with this classification
You are responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
You have graduated high school and have a certified scaffolding course, supplemented by three years' experience and training in the building trades. You must also have knowledge and training of the construction and operation of earth and concrete dams, as well as the operation of diesel generator units. You should also have knowledge and training in the operation of mobile equipment and hydraulic boom operations. You have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules and must possess an appropriate valid driver's license, and the following endorsements: 03 - tandem axle and 09 - air brake would be considered an asset.
