The ASU is a not-for-profit organization that provides services, events, clubs and societies and advocacy work, along with much more, for the students of Acadia University. The ASU is an organization led by students, for students. It consists of over 80 employees and many more volunteers.

Food and Beverage Manager

The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible to coordinate, develop, and promote the day-to-day operation of the Axe food and beverage operations and all Outside Bar operations for Acadia Students' Union by establishing policies and procedures, training and motivating student and non-student employees, and operating efficiently and effectively. The Food and Beverage Manager will also work to provide a wide array of programming to meet the needs of our diverse campus community.

Responsibilities

· Recruit, hire, coordinate, train, and evaluate staff.

· Ensure proper procedures are followed when handling ASU liquor, food and cash inventory.

· Responsible for all financial reports (i.e. budget forecasts, sales, and inventory records)

· Responsible for administering and preparing payroll for staff.

· Responsible for the programming, marketing, and development of the Axe Bar and Grill.

· Promote effective communication and service to both clients and staff and ensure an inclusive workplace environment.

· Work closely with all groups on campus both within and outside Acadia Students' Union.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in related field an asset

· Minimum of three years of management experience within a food and beverage environment

· Previous experience arranging and organizing special events.

· Strong familiarity with liquor policies and procedures

· Certification in Food Safety and Serve Right

· Ability to coach and develop student employees.

· Excellent interpersonal and human resource skills

· Strong organizational, financial, and problem-solving skills

· Knowledge of a P.O.S. system

· Proficient cash handling skills

· Punctual, enthusiastic, energized, and outgoing

Hours: Must be willing to work a combination of days, evenings, and weekends.

Salary: To be commensurate with qualifications and experience in a range of $46,433-53,670

Benefits: Three weeks vacation increasing with years of service, (additional two-week holiday break in December), Health and Dental package, annual $250 Wellness Fund, RRSP matching program after one year, and a hybrid work schedule during the summer.
