Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Behavior Interventionist to join our team at Paqtnkek Health Centre on a 12-month term. The Behavior Interventionist will play a crucial role in supporting individuals, groups, and communities in achieving healthier functioning by addressing challenging behaviors and promoting positive change.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals' behavioral challenges through observation, interviews, and psychological tests.
  • Develop individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings, setting measurable goals for behavioral change.
  • Implement intervention strategies using evidence-based techniques and methodologies.
  • Monitor clients' progress regularly, adjusting intervention plans as necessary to ensure effectiveness.
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed, developing immediate response plans to address threats or dangers.
  • Collaborate with clients' support systems, including families, schools, and healthcare providers, to ensure coordinated care and support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, progress, and intervention plans.
  • Provide referrals to other specialists or resources as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Community College Diploma or higher in education, social work, psychology, counseling, or related field.
  • Previous experience working in behavioral intervention or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral theories and interventions, with the ability to apply them effectively in practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and in crisis situations, demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
