Clearwater Seafoods' Finance department requires Finance Intern based at their Bedford, Nova Scotia Corporate Office. This role is a full-time four month term position.

Purpose of Position:

  • The Finance Intern is responsible to assist with the production of relevant and timely financial information.

Reporting Structure:

  • This position reports to the Finance Manager, Corporate Reporting

Job Duties:

  • Updating monthly reporting reconciliations
  • Assisting in the research and creation of Accounting info sessions for cross training
  • Reviewing statutory statements for mathematical accuracy and note references
  • Summarizing competitions' Quarterly results
  • Reporting to Statistic Canada for various finance metrics
  • Work with team to create an instructional guide of all reconciliations and schedules.
  • Work with me to research SAP reports to calculate Clearwater specific DPO (Day's Payable Outstanding) metric
  • Help in the tracking design of AOP (Annual operating Plan)

  • Working knowledge of Excel formulas (i.e. SUMIF, VLOOKUP)
  • Basic background of accounting/finance (i.e. Balance sheet, Revenue, Inventory, Debits/Credits)

Job Qualifications:

  • Business degree or diploma or 2 years equivalent work experience.
  • SAP user knowledge is an asset.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
