Our Halifax office is seeking an Information Governance Specialist to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with legal and staff teams, assisting with the management of information throughout the firm to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements and firm policies and procedures.
Assist with the lifecycle of firm and client/matter records.
Liaises with external vendors regarding offsite record collection, storage, and retrieval.
Supports the collation, review, update, release, transfer, disposition, or deletion of records.
Participates in the training on procedures and guidelines related to information management.
Support compliance reviews, investigations, and information governance audits.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
High school diploma required, college or university education preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience, preferably in records management, information governance or data management.
· The ability to analyze data and interpret information to improve the management of client and administrative records.
· Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
· Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of firm records and information.
· Familiarity with the management of network file shares.
· Experience with Microsoft software, specifically, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
