Emergency Management Project Coordinator

The Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the Health Emergency Management Branch as a Project Coordinator in Fredericton.

As a Project Coordinator you will:

  • Provide team-based project management and facilitation for the development and/or maintenance of all components of the provincial-level health emergency management program, including:
  • All-hazard and hazard-specific emergency response plans and protocols.
  • Emergency plan communication, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Participation in the design and delivery of health emergency management training and education.
  • Participation, and/or design and delivery of exercises.
  • Response and exercise evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in departmental and external emergency management committees and work groups;
  • Promote best practices and provide professional advice, guidance and support relating to emergency management;
  • Serve as a liaison and perform outreach functions with various levels of government and other stakeholders;
  • Maintain positive relationships with a large network of internal and external stakeholders involved in preparedness and response activities.
  • Prepare correspondence and provide other executive support to the branch.
  • Serve as one of the 24/7 on-call departmental duty officers for after-hours emergencies.
  • Serve as a section lead or operations lead with any activation of the Department's Emergency Operations Centre and be available to work outside of business hours during a response to an emergency.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health, Business, Public Administration or another related field.
  • Three years of experience in emergency management.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability on your application

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.

Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates who possess the following asset qualifications:

  • Experience in a health care setting.
  • Experience in Project Management

Candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications, in addition to the essential qualifications, in order to be given further consideration.

Salary: $64,974 to $90,740 per annum (Pay Band 5)
