PAL Aerospace is partnered with SkyAlyne who has been named by Canada as the preferred bidder for the Future Aircrew Training ( FAcT ) Program, which is our next generation pilot and aircrew training program for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The scope of the FAcT Program includes all training and in-service support requirements needed to prepare Pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers (ACSO), and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators (AES Op) to meet the future aerospace requirements of the RCAF. In collaboration with the Government of Canada, SkyAlyne and several of its major Canadian subcontractors will provide live-flying, simulator and classroom-based training, facilities construction and management, information management and information technology support, site support services, aircraft maintenance and much more. https://skyalyne.ca/future-aircrew-training-canada/

This Program will be a 20+ year contract and will be managed from the National Capital Region (Ottawa), with one of its main operational locations in Winnipeg, MB.

PAL Aerospace is searching for experienced Project Managers to join our Programs team preferably based in our St. John's office . Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination

  • Develop detailed project plans, outlining project objectives, tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and suppliers, to ensure project goals are met.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.

Budget and Resource Management

  • Manage project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring cost-effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Allocate and optimize resources effectively, ensuring teams have the necessary tools, materials, and support to execute project tasks.

Technical Oversight

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to team members, ensuring alignment with aerospace engineering standards and best practices.
  • Review technical documentation and specifications to guarantee compliance with project requirements.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure projects adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and quality guidelines.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to obtain necessary certifications and approvals for aerospace projects.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and milestones.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to promote collaboration and effective communication.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, technical specifications, and change orders.
  • Prepare detailed project reports for management review, summarizing project status, challenges, and achievements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business or a related subject.
  • A minimum of five-seven (5-7) years of direct work experience in project management is preferred.
  • Project management certification and PMP certification.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders of a diverse background.
  • Experience working in aerospace or training industry is preferred.
  • Experience working on complex Government of Canada contacts is preferred.
  • Demonstrated results-oriented approach to projects.
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods including the application of Earned Value Management.
  • Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff, including technical, professional, and senior management.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, technology management, and internal controls.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to create and edit project documents, materials, and presentations.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Jama software.

Security Responsibilities:

Incumbent must be eligible for Government Personnel Security Clearance.
