The Strategic Communications team leads internal and external communications efforts across various departments and divisions on behalf of the College.
The Communications Specialist plays a pivotal role in crafting compelling content to support both internal and external communication initiatives for NBCC. This includes collaborating with various departments and divisions within the college to coordinate communications activities and ensure consistent and well-timed messaging for a variety of communications portfolios.
In this role you will:
- Bring a fresh perspective and high-level writing expertise to the development of communications strategies and materials, collaborating closely with various departments and divisions within NBCC to translate complex information into engaging narratives that resonate with target audiences.
- Write and edit a wide range of communication materials, including but not limited to news releases, articles, blog posts, newsletters, speeches, letters, proposals, and reports as required.
- Demonstrate exceptional storytelling abilities to convey the impact of NBCC's programs, initiatives, and successes to diverse stakeholders, including students, staff, alumni, donors, partners, and the broader community.
- Conduct thorough research and interviews to gather relevant information and insights, incorporating data and personal narratives to enhance the effectiveness of written content.
- Drive creativity and innovation in content development, generating fresh ideas and concepts to elevate NBCC's storytelling efforts and enhance audience engagement.
Education/Technical Experience:
- Diploma/Degree in a related field (Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism) with relevant work experience.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have a minimum of three (3) years of recent and related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
