Summary

The Senior Specialist, Asset Management reports to the Director, Asset Management & Workplace and is responsible for strategic Real Estate asset planning for the Bell Canada and BCE group of companies Real Estate portfolio.

As part of the Asset Management and Workplace strategy team, the main purpose of your role is to develop, promote and execute Real Estate strategies to optimize Bell Real Estate portfolio and generate opportunities to generate savings/benefits, with a view to enhance the employee experience. You will lead the implementation and execution of large-scale Portfolio transformation strategies such as the transition of Bell to a shared workplace model.

This position requires a strategic thinker with strong Strategic Planning, Project Management and Communication skills. Someone who collaborates with teams across Real Estate and several business partners establishing strong relationships with stakeholders and peers. The candidate must have a relevant Real Estate background.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Real Estate planning. Initiate, develop and recommend real estate portfolio consolidation strategies to optimize Bell and BCE's Real Estate portfolio, such as office space reduction, consolidation of assets, leasing and disposition strategies. Develop multi-year Business case iterations as required and complete financial cost-benefit analysis for project approval including costs, savings, Cash Flow, NPV and payback. Interact as a RE business advisor on general portfolio management and formulate new strategies for the Leadership team and diverse stakeholders.
  • Project manage the planning and the delivery of multiple projects at varied conceptual, design and construction stages. Manage all costs, recommend and develop revisions to original plans, monitor and challenge project budget estimates/actuals to ensure cost-effective delivery and compliance of approved plans.
  • Direct external BGIS teams by providing guidance on strategy and by monitoring/challenging scope, cost estimation and project delivery.
  • Develop, document and drive change management plans at a company-wide level to optimize the employee experience and employee adoption of new workplaces. Communicate and influence on RE strategies to internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Close collaboration with the larger Real Estate team, BGIS, and Finance to prepare financial Real estate reporting. Conduct continuous business intelligence by actively contributing to the reporting process and process optimization
  • Act as Bell Real Estate primary contact with all third parties, including corporate service providers (telecom planning and operational groups, environmental group) and external providers (architects, engineers and other experts) for strategic planning of land, space and buildings
Critical Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance or Real estate, or other RE related education or experience
  • 5 or more years progressive experience in portfolio or asset planning in a Corporate environment
  • Self-starter, strategic thinker with excellent Strategic Planning and proven Project Management experience
  • Ability to resolve complex issues and unforeseen obstacles quickly and efficiently.
  • Effective prioritization skills with proven success in managing multiple priorities with varying deadlines
  • Must be a clear, open and effective communicator with strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead and influence a large group of diverse stakeholders
  • Expertise of MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability and willingness to travel
