The New Brunswick Legal Aid Services Commission (NBLASC) is seeking an individual to join Public Trustee Services in Fredericton as a Financial Trust Officer

Public Trustee Services protects the financial and personal interests of adults who need support due to a mental or physical incapacity. Public Trustee services also administers the estates of deceased and missing persons and protects the financial interests of children in certain matters. What you will do

Your role is the day-to-day management and administration of the financial affairs of clients and your responsibilities include:

Providing service to clients in all regions of the province in English and French on a daily basis;

Managing clients' assets and liabilities, and income and expenses;

Securing, protecting, and liquidating client assets such as real property, personal property and investments;

Preparing annual income tax and trust returns on behalf of clients;

Working with the Guardianship and Legal teams to facilitate client service;

Working with third party service providers, provincial and federal government agencies, community partners, clients and client family members, to facilitate client service;

Conducting financial reviews of client finances to ensure financial obligations can be met;

Collaborating, developing and maintaining relationships with external and internal stakeholders;

Analyzing reports to assist with the preparation of the Financial Schedules;

Making recommendations to Senior Trust Officer on client related matters.

Who you are

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have (Essential qualifications and skills)

· University Degree in Business Administration or in a related field

· A minimum of four (4) years of related experience

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Nice to have (Asset qualifications)

Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate:

High proficiency in the area of office technology and MS Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).

Wage

$2,140 - 2,993 biweekly - Pay Band 4 - Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
