Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator will be responsible for developing dynamic and impactful copy and assets that effectively communicate the brand story of the Foundation across all media platforms (print and digital). Additionally, the role supports the organization's strategic marketing and communications goals by supporting our development team (annual giving, major gifts programming and stewardship) with projects like donor recognition, events promotions, and expanding our digital brand presence, all while utilizing storytelling and sharing impactful statistics to acquire new donors and steward existing donors.

What you will be doing:

  • Assisting with the development, maintenance, and execution of a yearly communications content calendar to position the Foundation's brand and impactful storytelling in alignment with annual brand, marketing, development and donor recognition plans.
  • Working with the Foundations Lead Designer, freelance designers and photographers and a variety of internal stakeholders, to create meaningful communications assets for campaigns, primarily for social media and digital mediums.
  • Writing copy for a variety of mediums including but not limited to social media, website, email, press releases and printed promotional material, as required.
  • Supporting the Hospital Home Lottery marketing program.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of best practices for social media platforms.
  • Creating and maintaining an evergreen guideline document for our social media channels that includes our visual look and feel for social, how we monitor engagement, benchmark analytics, and measure results from digital campaigns and tactics (monitoring web traffic, search rankings, social impressions, and more).
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and post-campaign reports that analyze engagement metrics for Foundation's brand content.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with team members, our donors, vendors, board and community partners to support key projects including community events, signature events, donor recognition, and campaigns.

What we want to see from you

  • College diploma or bachelor's degree in communications and/or marketing, equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in fundraising, marketing and/or communications.
  • Experience with managing and creating paid and organic social media content calendars, across various platforms mandatory.
  • Demonstrated investment in staying up-to-date on social media best practices and trends related to content creation and analytics.
  • Strong copy writing and organizational capabilities.
  • Keen eye for details and design.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Experience with WordPress, Canva and Hootsuite considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong relationship skills and commitment to teamwork.
