Position: Templater

Position Summary

Templaters are responsible to provide , modify and verify various drawings for counter tops, island tops etc and other components in the granite and countertop industry.

Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes Required

• High School diploma
• Auotcad training or experienced required (1 -2 years)
• Proven and varied Installation experience an asset
• Problem Solving and trouble shooting skills
• Excellent Customer service skills
• Very good organization skills
• Time management and prioritizing skills
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Ability to accept direction, instructions and work with others
• Able to take initiative and work independently
• Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines
• Attention to details in all work areas
• Physically fit

Job Tasks

PRE HEADING TO SITE:

• Call client to make sure someone is there that can make decisions.
• Make sure sinks, faucets and appliances or specs are available.
• Arriving on site, always check access (entry way, stairs, which floor, elevators, railings etc..)

Special Consideration to checking access must be given to pieces that are large.

NEW CONSTRUCTION OR NEW CABINETS

• Checking all walls for defects that could affect your laser as in bumps or divets, casings, pipe chase, etc. Must use a straight edge against the wall.
• Marking all your centers ( sinks , cooktops)
• Positioning tripod and laser where you see fit , and before start lasering .. repeat every process in every room you measure..
• After lasering is complete, must transfer file to autocad on laptop and finish drawing.
• Once CAD is done, measure all cabinets, walls, backsplash, etc.. with measuring tape, then compare hand measure with CAD measures. Make adjustments if measures differ to your CAD drawings.

RETRO FITS (RENOS)

• Checking wall defects, check if cabinets are level, and check if walls are plumb.
• Advising clients that modifications will have to be done before countertop installation.
• After lasering cabinets, check overhangs on existing countertops if applied and modify CADS according to clients request.
• Once CAD drawings are verified and are acceptable , clients should be asked to come verifiy what
• Client to be asked what they want for overhangs, radius corners , edge profiles etc. Templater to Show clients our (Precision countertops) standards
