Shambhala School is eagerly seeking a Learning Specialist Teacher to champion the diverse needs of our students, ranging from pre-primary to grade 12. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing tailored instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborating closely with classroom teachers to ensure instruction is both differentiated and accessible.
- Developing and implementing strategies to foster academic and social-emotional growth for all students.
- Engaging in continuous professional development to stay abreast of the latest best practices in learning support and pedagogy.
- Collaborating with faculty to review and refine our curriculum, fostering inclusive, accessible, and diverse learning environments.
To qualify for this role, we're looking for candidates with:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (a Master's degree is preferred).
- Experience in Special Education is a must.
- A solid grasp of Universal Design for Learning principles and practices.
- Experience implementing both remediation and enrichment strategies.
- Familiarity with decolonizing the curriculum and critical pedagogy.
- A genuine passion for working with students with diverse learning needs, coupled with a steadfast commitment to equity and inclusion.
