Cove Soda, their most recent innovation, is North America's FIRST zero-sugar, functional soda made with 1 billion probiotics and nothing artificial. Now, we are thrilled to be partnering with them seeking a highly qualified and experienced Cost Accountant to join their dynamic team.

As the Cost Accountant at Cove Drinks, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of their financial reporting and costs throughout the entire supply chain. From managing and analyzing the costs associated with producing Cove's products, to helping their organization understand and manage their costs effectively, ensuring that financial resources are utilized efficiently to support their objectives.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with different departments and team members to gather data and provide insights on cost-related matters.
  • Verify supplier and service billings from vendors are accurate.
  • Analyze production costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.
  • Analyze any changes in raw material costs and services to determine impact on finished products.
  • Report on customer profitability and prepare variance analysis.
  • Perform Sales and product line profitability analysis.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities related to cost accounting.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by providing cost-related information.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or commerce is considered an asset
  • 3+ years of experience as a cost accountant, analyst or other relevant role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Familiarity with accounting software programs, such as QuickBooks and Katana
  • Computer literacy skills, Outlook 365 and Microsoft tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid technical experience in cost management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
