DEPARTMENT: Mental Health - Administration

JOB TYPE: Permanent full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual essential

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Adult Mental Health and Addiction Services, the incumbent will assist in supervising programs and act as a consultant in promotion, prevention and treatment related to mental health and addiction problems. The incumbent must ensure that tools are in place to support the managers that they supervise. The incumbent will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a uniform quality and performance management process. The incumbent will be responsible for managing employees physically working in other zones. The duties of the incumbent will involve travel within the Network's territory to support their managers. The incumbent may also be assigned various tasks based on operational needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate degree in a field related to health administration or to health;
  • Master's degree in administration considered an asset;
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a health care management position;
  • 8-10 years' experience in the health field;
  • Experience supervising/managing staff and strong coaching skills;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the mental health and addiction sectors, and experience in program development and implementation;
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered;
  • Ease forging internal and external partnerships based on their knowledge of the field and ability to bring people together;
  • Good leadership and communication skills;
  • Strategic-thinking skills and innovative and collaborative management style;
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, planning, and program development and evaluation;
  • Ease working in a changing environment and strong skills implementing change management strategies;
  • Extensive experience managing human and financial resources as well as information in general;
  • Recognized ability to achieve results, whether directly or through teamwork;
  • Ability to use the computer tools common throughout the health network;
  • Availability to travel within the Network's territory;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
