To be eligible for this program, candidates must provide proof of status as a full-time student and be scheduled to return to an accredited post-secondary institution after the work term.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct a variety of engineering analysis on various projects in the areas of Senior and Public Housing.
  • On-site review and analysis of facilities, liaise with project teams, and review standards and specifications related to such a variety of residential building requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define office space requirements in alignment with Public Works standards. Ensure that space allocation meets regulatory and operational needs efficiently.
  • Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of current investment in appliances relative to inventory. Determine the break-even point and analyze cost-effectiveness to optimize resource allocation.
  • Identify areas for improvement in appliance quality to enhance operational efficiency and resident satisfaction. Make recommendations for strategic investment in high-quality appliances where necessary.
  • Explore opportunities for cost savings and operational enhancement through inventory management strategies. Develop actionable insights to streamline inventory processes and maximize resource utilization.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably with a focus on Industrial Engineering.
  • Proficient in mathematics.
  • Familiar with computer software.

Assets

  • Familiarity with construction sites, as well as construction design standards.
  • Travel throughout your assigned area may be required, as such, have a valid driver license. Access to a reliable motor vehicle would be an asset.

Competencies required at this level of work are Analytical skills, Communication and Interpersonal skills, Detailed-oriented mindset, and Initiative and Problem-solving ability.
