Responsibilities

Acadia is in search of a Coordinator, Exam Operations, tasked with supporting students with disabilities by ensuring appropriate accommodations for midterms and exams. The Coordinator plays a pivotal role in eliminating barriers to assessment completion, while upholding human rights, accessibility legislation, and guidelines for exam coordination.

Responsibilities include overseeing exam scheduling, supervising the Exam Support Coordinator, and maintaining the integrity of exam proctoring. Leadership skills are essential for ensuring compliance with university policies, while providing support to students and conducting training sessions for proctors and faculty on current procedures. The Coordinator assists in developing and facilitating first year transition, orientation, workshops, events, and information sessions.

This role is crucial for meeting students' accommodation needs and upholding academic integrity.

Qualifications
  • We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree with at least 3 years experience, preferably working in the post-secondary education sector.

  • Ability to work with students with disabilities and understand the impact that barriers may have on learning and with the student experience.

  • Experience working with students with disabilities and accommodations will be considered an asset.

  • Proven experience delivering a high level of client service and demonstrated ability to think clearly, use sound judgement in assessing situations, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to meet deadlines and work within a collaborative environment.

  • Familiarity with Acadia's academic programs and administrative procedures an asset.

  • Applicants must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and comfortable working in a technology supported environment.

  • Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule which may at times include evenings and weekends during peak campus and continuous intake exams.
