­Power Line Technician

­General Duties:

­Performs maintenance and construction using rubber gloves, cover-up and hot stick and cold methods on all transmission and distribution lines and associated equipment; performs troubleshooting, testing, inspecting and preventative maintenance on all lines, buses and disconnects.­ May be required to operate boom trucks, muskegs, aerial equipment, tracked equipment and all terrain equipment.­ All other duties related to or associated with this classification.

­Responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program.­ Responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

­Required Qualifications:

­High school graduation supplemented by journeyperson graduation as an operating line worker and one (1) year experience in line maintenance following certification or have completed the corporations apprenticeship program (Lines).­ High Voltage DC experience will be considered an asset.

­Shall have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules.­ Must possess an appropriate valid driver's license.
